Point Consumption System

Point Consumption System

The Center does not charge usage fees. Instead, points are awarded to each project.

These points can then be spent to make use of the systems, as per our point consumption system.

About the point consumption system

As a general rule, we do not charge usage fees at our center; instead, we have adopted a “point consumption system” to facilitate the fair use of limited resources by multiple projects.

Principal Investigators are required to request a specific number of points to be used for each project in their application.

The acceptance or rejection of applications and the allocation of usage points are decided by the Institute for Solid State Physics Faculty Council after review by the Supercomputer Joint Usage Committee.

Users can utilize the system within their allocated number of points.

Point consumption is based on the time that elapses to complete a batch job, the number of nodes occupied, and the disk usage (quota limit setting value).

Point Consumption Criteria

Researchers applying to use the system are allotted a number of points as determined by review.

Two criteria determine the number of points allotted for use of the system:

・ Consumption criteria for program execution in the “standard queue” (standard usage)
・ Consumption criteria for disk space occupied on the system

Please refer to the links below for details about point consumption on each system.
