Software Program Consultation
The ISSP Joint Research Supercomputer Center accepts requests for software program consultation via e-mail. Please note that we limit the scope of consultations to problems specific to the ISSP supercomputer and that we cannot respond to questions or requests regarding software programs in general.
For example, please contact us about issues such as the following.
- Suspiciously low execution performance, as compared to other sites
- Programs that build at different systems do not build on the ISSP supercomputer
- Programs that run at other systems either do not work or they behave very differently
- Compilers that behave questionably, etc.
- Jobs that finish with an error of which the meaning is not clear.
- After reading the user manual, it still needs to be clarified how to link to libraries. Or, it simply is not working.
The following requests for consultation will not be honored:
- Requests for debugging of general user programs
- Requests for parallelization of non-parallelized code
- Requests for acceleration and optimization of commercial/user programs

The following four items are mandatory when contacting us regarding consultation, as shown in the example.
- User ID
- Full name
- System name
- Details of requested consultation
Please clarify the problem as much as possible before contacting us. We may not be able to provide consultation for very large-scale programs. We aim to respond within two weeks, but it may take longer depending on the depth of our investigation. We appreciate your understanding.
