About the Submission

About activity reports

Following the end of the period, we ask users to submit an activity report on their research results and a list of published papers. The reports are published once a year in the in the “ISSP Supercomputer Activity Report” (in English), with operation statistics, etc. The reports will provide us with valuable data for considering the basis for continuing to provide computing resources as a Joint Usage / Research Center , as well as what sort of computational resources and services we should provide in the future.

Activity reports

Please submit an activity report for each project. The report should be written in English on 1 or 2 pages of A4 size paper. The format and items to be filled out are as follows.
You may also submit a summary report for related projects.
For Class A users, it is not necessary to submit a report.

  1. Authors should comply with copyright laws when reprinting text, figures, and tables from other documents.
  2. The report should be submitted as a PDF file.
  3. The report should be prepared on A4 size paper with 3 cm margins.
  4. The title should occupy 1 column and should be presented in gothic (or bold) and centered;
  5. The name of the AUTHOR (capital letters) and the author’s Affiliation (Italic) should occupy 1 column and be centered;
  6. The main text should be presented in two-column format and the columns should be evenly distributed;
  7. Additional formatting details are provided in the reference template.

We have prepared LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates, but any software may be used as long as the manuscript adheres to the above-mentioned formatting requirements and is submitted as a PDF file.

Activity report template and guide

Contents of the report

Please briefly describe the results of research proposal using the ISSP supercomputer, with particular emphasis on how used the computational resources. If there are any innovations in computational methods (including algorithms, parallelization, tuning techniques, Etc.), please describe them.

List of Publications

(1) Papers
Please include only papers presenting results that were obtained using the ISSP supercomputers. In chronological order from the earliest to the latest, list all publications related to the project that have been published in print or accepted for publication in journals (including international conference proceedings) during the current fiscal year, or are in the process of submission.

Please also report to us about the field of each publication from this time.

\field{}
0 Physics
1 Chemistry
2 Materials Science
3 Computing & Math
4 Engineering
5 Environmental & Earth Sciences
6 Fundamental Life Sciences
In the case of Physics, \field{} can be omitted.

(2) Degrees (M.S., Ph.D.)
Degrees that were earned on the basis of results that were produced on the ISSP supercomputers should be listed in the report.

(3) Software
The name(s) of any software that was used should be reported.

(4) Data
The report should include details of any data repository in which published data or data intended for publication, that were obtained using the ISSP’s supercomputer, have been stored.
